COST-EFFECTIVE COOLING IN FRAMELESS GLASS ARCHITECTURE

Contemporary Commercial Architecture with its clean lines, seamless surfaces and pure geometric forms has one drawback in that it allows minimal to zero external shading of the buildings major heat gain and heat loss points.
While using tinted PVB laminated glass with special surface coatings will help to reduce solar heat gain (at high expense and only if installed correctly) the next and most cost-effective step is to use blinds.

The range of choices is very broad. Choosing a style, material and colour to suit the interior is almost unlimited.
In keeping with an uncluttered contemporary look some blind types can be installed with their headrails hidden in the recess of a bulkhead.

Another advantage of blinds in contemporary frameless glass structures is the control each individual in the building has over their own lighting and shading needs.

Please read our earlier post for some hints and tips on selecting the right blind for your needs.
Alplas Shutters and Louvres has a large selection of  HI TECH TEXTILES that allow a new level of solar control within contemporary architecture and interior design.
